WHO WE ARE
REN
Ren Dillon is a filmmaker, writer, educator, and arts organization leader. A Kansas native, Ren moved to NYC at 17 to attend art school. She earned a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in Photography, and an MFA from Columbia University in Film Directing. She spent over 25 years in NYC and LA working in the film and tv industries as a producer, writer, and film director. Her screenplay, Birds with Teeth, a comedy about 19th Century Paleontology, won the prestigious Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Award. Her film work has garnered multiple awards and has been screened at film festivals around the world. She taught filmmaking and writing at Columbia University, Gibbs College, the Kansas City Art Institute, and the Art Institutes International. For three years she taught Emirate women at the Higher Colleges of Technology - Abu Dhabi Women’s College in the United Arab Emirates. She was Chair of Film Production at the Art Institute of New York City, and the Executive Director of the Green Mountain Film Festival. She is currently the Development Director at Chandler Center for the Arts. She owns a small farm in Montpelier VT and raises dairy, goats, saffron and working dogs in addition to her creative endeavors.

An entrepreneur and legal expert with a focus on Intellectual Property and Copyright Law; Criminal Law and Procedure; Corporations.
Mario is the former GC, Secretary & COO of NYC startup AviantLogic, Inc., which offers re:fluence: a SaaS platform offering content distribution, influencer targeting, & analytics. Mario founded Drive Development Labs, LLC in 2012 to create software, & provide consulting services.
Mario launched Hankerson Law Group in 2011 to 2012, & Hankerson Law Group, PLLC in 2012. Practice areas include Start-Ups, Corporate, IP, Real Estate, & Criminal Defense.
From 2008 to 2011, Mario worked at Equity Services, Inc. as a Compliance Officer, ensuring compliance, advised on risk management, & interpreted MSRB, SEC & FINRA rules. He currently holds the Series 4, 7, 24, 53, & 66 licenses.
Mario worked as an IT Contractor creating software, & servicing systems from ‘00 to ‘04. He taught Criminal Justice & Computer Science courses as a Graduate Assistant at East Tennessee State University ("ETSU") and worked as a Business Analyst.
Mario received multiple degrees from ETSU: a B.S. in Criminology in ‘98, a M.A. in Criminal Justice in 2002, a M.S. in Computer & Information Science in 2003, and a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Leadership in 2004. He received a J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2007, where he is also an Externships Instructor.
